Few people in this world are blessed to do what they are born to do from the very day they are able to stand on their own feet. Sherin Poojari is one such individual who connected with his inner nature early in life and then spent decades excelling himself in his art. He has built a profile in the field of strength & conditioning, health & fitness, which is unmatched in India. Timeline

He followed his 10 year old sister to her karate class at the marol police camp and this continued for the next two years. Unfortunately for Sherin the classes closed down. But that did not stop him as it had lit the spark within.
To his rescue came a Judo class that started inside his housing society premises. Sherin convinced his parents and began a journey that continues till date.
From 5th grade all the way till the 10th grade, he rained as the interschool champion and earned his black belt at the age of 16. Before he even passed out of school.
Sherin began participating at the national judo championship and it is here that he realised that he needs to work on his strength & conditioning. He asked for guidance from one of his friend who was 10 years senior to him and a dedicated weight lifter.
Sherin connected deeply with his training. He referred to countless books and videos to learn the science behind the training. Within months he became the preferred choice of his friends and gym goers to seek guidance from and thus came calling his first offer as a gym trainer by one of the most upscale gyms in his city. Sherin readily accepted the position and thus began the journey of his professional career.
He applied for the position of gym trainer at one of the most upscale clubs in Mumbai called ‘The Club’. To his utter surprise, post interview he was offered the position of Supervisor – Gym, Spa and recreation area. Sherin gladly accepted the offer for his first management position and lead a team of 17 staff.
His leadership qualities and communication skills were immediately noticed in the industry and came calling the position of Executive – recreation, spa and beauty salon at the 5 star Hotel Renaissance Marriott, Mumbai. At such a tender age he was now leading a team of 37 staff. He continued his strength & conditioning, Judo training but this time it was with the Maharashtra state & Mumbai police judo team that was preparing for the all India police games.
He took a risk that left his family and friends stunned. When most would settle down with a career in a Marriott property at such a young age and continue to grow the ranks, Sherin RESIGNED and started his journey in entrepreneurship. He started his own personal fitness training business with Bollywood actress Shamita Shetty as his first client.
Sherin started personal training Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. He was chosen to be a lecturer at the Gold’s gym university on the subject of periodization. For the next 8 years he conducted lecturers all across India. He appeared for his second degree black belt exam in Judo and ranked first In India. He underwent rigorous judo training for 12 weeks at the Sports Authority of India in Hisar, Haryana.
Started training Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly. He now took his business pan India and started training clients in New Delhi. He underwent a rigorous Judo training camp with the Indian Judo team at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala. He started practicing Tai Chi under the guidance of Sensei Christopher Fernandez.
By now Sherin was personal fitness trainer to some of the biggest names in Bollywood and business houses. His clienteles included choreographer Ganesh Hegde, T series owner Kishan Kumar, Raj kundra, Hotelier Sanjeev Nanda to name a few. He was also very passionate about setting up health clubs. He did so for all his clients in their residence and also for many others who were not a part of his client list. For example he set up a private gym at Mrs Madhuri Dixit Nene at her residence.

When most trainers would settle with a career like this, Sherin did the unthinkable that left his family and friends stunned once again. He shut down his entire business that he had built over a decade because he felt he needed to take his career to the next level and the only way to do that was education. So began his journey in academics for the next 4 years in Australia.

He pursued a 3.5 years full time degree course at Griffith University in exercise science. Being a certificate 4 & 3 now makes him a REPS certified trainer from Fitness Australia. This now gives him global access with his degrees and certifications valid in 72 countries.
He is probably one of the few civilians who had the privilege to stay with the tri forces (Army, Navy Air force) at the Armed Forces Sports Medicine Centre in Pune for 6 weeks and complete his certified strength and conditioning specialist course. This course is specially designed for the armed forces coaches to train their sports teams.

Undisputedly the most qualified and experienced fitness professional in India, he is now back and has picked up his business from where he had left it. He has now entered the big leagues where currently is working as a full time personal fitness trainer for the CMD of Raymond group Mr. Gautam Singhania and along with this he also works as a fitness consultant for the Raymond Board Of Directors. Undoubtedly he is one of the best in India proving his worth with the amount of work he does. With the high risk high rewards mentality Sherin Poojari has become one of the biggest fitness trainers in India.
